Ooh La Vintage

I love how cute this boutique truly is!  Ooh La Vintage is owned by Patty Barba, founder of the Patty's Closet franchise boutiques here in Vegas.  Her selection of vintage items are unique and different from any other vintage/recycled store here in town.  I know if I buy something from this boutique the chances of another person here in Vegas walking around with the same top or dress would be very slim which is great!  Vintage shopping is like finding treasure.  Boy, did she have some great items in store! Some of the furniture can be purchased too! Her recycled and up-cycled items were fun and in good condition.  From what I heard, this boutique gets new shipment twice a week so it may get me into some trouble!  This is definitely on the top of my list of favorite places to shop at here in Sin City!

Some fun tops I found

Edgy Inspirations

Here are a few pics I have found that inspire me when it comes to edgy fashion.  There are performers like Rhianna and Lady Gaga that have the cutting edge of fashion exceptionally down, but I wanted to showcase editorials that are different than ones that have been seen.  Enjoy!

In it to Win it

In life no matter what we choose to do, we all like to be winners.  To each person, winning can mean something different.  Winning is all based on perspective.  It can mean conquering a goal, maintaining sobriety, maintaining health, moving forward, learning from mistakes, staying motivated etc  How do you claim that you are a winner?  As soon as we were able to distinguish between winning and losing, there's not one child out there that wants to lose at a game, a sport, have good grades. getting the job etc the list goes on.  No one likes to lose.  Losing may be one of the worst feelings we've felt at a young age.  We've all felt it.  It seriously blows.  However, winning for me is going through the struggle.  Without struggle, you can't possibly claim yourself a winner.  The biggest winners on the planet failed and lost repeatedly before climbing their way to the top.  In my life, I've already dealt with so much struggle both inner and outer that sometimes I ask, "Geez can I catch a break here? Somebody throw me a f----in bone! Is this really happening? When is Ashton and his Punked crew coming out to say I've been Punked?!" Although, if it hadn't been for my struggles, I wouldn't be the strong woman that I am today.  I sometimes feel like an 80 yr old woman that has truly lived a full life even though I'm not even half way there yet!  I look back at some of the things I've seen, had to go through....  I already have tons of stories for my grandchildren's children and I don't even have kids yet!
I'm not talking about a game of Pac Man here, I'm talking about this crazy game called life in case you haven't caught on.  We all wake up everyday at some point and think "Uuuuugh, I really don't want to go to work today." or "I really don't feel like working on that project or that assignment.." yada yada yada.  Our minds can be such a drag sometimes.  I know my mind drives me nuts to where I have to take time out to shut it off.   Perhaps getting out of bed and on to that job or assignment will help you get ahead of your bills or help motivate you to be the better person you can become.  Redirecting the brain into thinking what can possibly be done to improve, challenge, and grow is all part of the game.  If what I'm doing is helping me grow then I'm on the right track.  If for whatever reason I don't feel that way, then it's probably time to figure out a way I can get excited with something else and move forward.  If it's something I care about and love I like to take the time to master it until I feel like I've conquered it in whatever way that may be.  Growing up I was always in tune with the things that I love.  When you do what you love whether you're getting a paycheck from it or not, you will be happy which in turn will shine through in whatever it is that you're working on.  That's why doing what you love is important even if it's a hobby. I'm not the type that likes to sit and play a video game for hours on end because a video game isn't important to me so I could care less if I win or not.  It's not that big of a deal.  If I stopped working at becoming the best that I could ever be in life then I'm a loser and it's game over.  As long as I'm here, I'm in it to win it.  Through my struggles I've learn to look at negatives as positives even though they may not seem positive at first.  I'm still learning, I'm still growing.  I move forward even though the struggles irritate the hell out of me, but in the end I know I'm a winner.
