Pool Party Anyone?..But First, Let Me Take a Selfie

The hot summer days have officially started here in Vegas.  This Memorial Day weekend is swarming with tourists from all over the globe and the biggest attraction are the day clubs.  I will never understand the beauty of being surrounded by hundreds of almost naked bodies in over 100 degree weather not being able to see an ounce of pool water, but hey, for some it's a fun lifestyle.  I have been guilty of it in the past as they are an interesting experience to check out at least once.  International dj's such as Calvin Harris, Diplo, Tiesto, just to name a few, among others play music at these day clubs while thousands flock and fist pump with a drink in the other hand.  Good for them! For me I choose quieter places to relax for the weekend such as Nevada's largest park called Wetlands.  It was a scorcher yesterday to walk through, but there were trees to grab a piece of shade heaven and cool off in between the sun beating down hard on my not sun screened skin (I don't recommend not wearing sunscreen to people who will be out in the Vegas sun).  Perhaps fall and early spring would be a better time to truly enjoy the park.  It was still awesome to appreciate since I've been into hot yoga torture lately anyhow.  After the park, I decided to jump in the pool to cool off once I was home and swim laps.  I then finished off the night with Lucille's BBQ at Red Rock resort for the BBQ chicken salad where I could barely keep my eyes open from all that sun I was exposed to all day.  I didn't have one cocktail all day, and I was burned out from a normal relaxing day.  I definitely see why the roads of Las Vegas are peaceful and quiet today after the crazy party pics flooded my newsfeed on my facebook the past couple of days.  I'm sure it's due to the wonderful pool party day/nightclub extravaganzas that I wish to take no part in.  I'm not a huge fan of crowds.  I enjoy my peaceful lifestyle away from the madness.

I used to be against the high waisted shorts when they first came out last year, but I've grown to love them this year.  The acid wash shorts I'm sporting in these pics are stretchy and not the hard denim fabric which makes them more bearable.  A major plus is not having my bottom exposed by these like other certain high waisted shorts tend to do.  This outfit goes out to the ones that are still going or have taken part in the day/nightclub pool parties for Memorial Day weekend here in Vegas.  This outfit I wouldn't wear out and about while running errands due to feeling uncomfortable at a grocery store, but it is absolutely perfectly hundred percent acceptable for the pool parties.  High wedges will be worn and something like this over a swimsuit or with a swimsuit top would be appropriate.  The bigger the sunnies worn the better, in order to protect the eyes from the sun and to quietly people watch of course!  Thousands of selfies will and have been taken while at these crazy gatherings because it's the age of which we live in social media.  It doesn't mean we've all accepted it, and that's perfectly fine because nothing is truly right just as nothing is truly wrong with one's personal lifestyle preference.  What's important is being happy with what you're doing in life to yourself and your body at the end of the day.  With that said, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and have found some time to enjoy some peaceful R&R.

  3. Great photos, Angela. I like the ethnic print bandeau you are sporting. High-waisted shorts are not my style but you look fantastic in them. Your blog is so cool. It has a very energetic vibe and I like your writing style. I discovered your blog from IFB and would love to follow each other on Bloglovin and Twitter. I am following you now. I hope you can follow back. Have a great rest of the week and try to stay cool. I know how hot it can get in Las Vegas. I have a fondness for it there. I have been to Vegas twice and must return. It is a fun place to visit.
