Vintage Tee

Turning an Oversized Tee into A Dress.

When it comes down to graphic tees, especially vintage ones, it usually comes down to whether that graphic catches the eye or if it has some sort of meaning to the wearer. For me this time around, I went with a vintage Vegas tee that I found on Etsy since I’ve lived in Vegas most of my life. This tee has some of the original marquee signs of the hotels that were popular on the strip in the late 80s and early 90s such as the Sands which is no longer there, but still can be visited at the Neon Boneyard Museum. The pirate ship at Treasure Island was also a popular attraction that had a show. While the ship's structure is still there, the show filled with singing and dancing pirates is no longer going on. It's only a matter of time before that ship gets taken out and the hotel gets called something different like anything else in this town.

I love the color and print of this shirt.  The only downfall was the size. This shirt was an XL in which case I was bummed about because I usually wear a small; however I was determined to make it work.

I could have tucked it in or tied it on the side or back. I actually thought of cutting it up, but decided to keep it as is and turn it into a dress.

Paired with my favorite Matisse boots, this look was perfect topped off with a hat. It will look even cuter layered with a fitted leather or denim jacket, but the weather isn’t quite there yet out here in the desert!
